FTP or File Transfer Protocol

File transfer protocol (English language: File Transfer Protocol) is an Internet protocol that runs on the application layer which is the standard for transferring files (files) between the computer machines in a protocol.

With FTP you can transfer (copy / mengcut / delete) data from the local computer to a computer server located far away there. Now with FTP there are 3 kinds of "activities" means that we can

1) upload the data from the local computer to the server computer. Its activity is usually done by the web owner. Examples of web owners like mengonlinekan html / php web hosting to the server to be accessible to everyone. And please note also berpasword FTP hosting server. so if you want to upload the data we need to have an FTP account. This is called a Registered User

2) Downloading of data, the FTP protocol we can download data from a server computer to a local computer. Example: I download linux iso from ftp://ftp.itb.ac.id/pub/

To download FTP perpetually kind ftp://ftp.itb.ac.id/pub/, ftp://kambing.ui.ac.id/ not berpasword so we can freely download files without any FTP account. It is also called Anonimous Users

3) Managing files in FTP, the FTP protocol we can manage FTP files, copy (download), create a new directory / folder, edit the file, or even remove (delete)

How do I access FTP?

FTP access can be done through

1) Accessing FTP using a kind of web browser software Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrom, Aurora Browser, IE, and his kind. Through our browser dpat doing 3 activities earlier. But the browser has access  the fast upload / download not as fast as using FTPclient

Panel Local site

Panel works to manage local site files / folders on the local computer are uploaded to the server computer or being downloaded from the server computer.

Queue Panel

Panel queue displays files that are in the entry to the server computer (if you upload) or display the files that are in the entry to the local computer (if you are downloading)

Status Bar

In the status bar we can find:

Files are still queued to be uploaded / downloaded,

File successfully uploaded to your computer / server successfully downloaded to the local computer,

Files that failed in upload / download fails,

Bar Connection

At the bar you can set the connection bandwith upload or download bandwidth can also be arranged.

In addition, you can find out the status of the connection to the local computer server computer
